New Royal Mail Train.

The club now has a new train to pull around Hungate Bridge thanks to Richard Stowe. Richard has done a sterling job of modelling a two coach Royal Mail coach train by repainting and detailing two old coaches one of which had been in storage in one of our plastic boxes for many years. I have added the photos and a description of how Richard has transformed these old coaches in the Gallery pages of our website.

Toby Tram Build.

You can now follow the build of my 1:19 scale Toby tram which will eventually run on my garden railway. As a child I enjoyed watching Thomas the Tank Engine and Friends which was on the Tv during the late 1980s and early 1990s. I hope to model my Toby tram similar to Toby on the Tv series [ before CGI ] and possibly a Henrietta. Daniel Cousins.

New Signals For Hungate Bridge.

One thing our club layout has been missing to date is signals. A layout can look uncompleted without signals so we have decided to rectify this matter. We have had some Model Signal Engineering signals stored in one of our many boxes of bits and bobs for sometime. Richard Stowe has sorted through them and has been busy constructing what we have, without instructions i must add and has done a great job. He has to date completed two and is working on some more. All our signals are going to be fully operational. I will add some pictures of our new signals soon.

Summer Club Update.

The club has had a busy summer so far, with details and new buildings being added to our model railway Hungate Bridge and we also put on a mini exhibition at Wimbotsham. The Wimbotsham exhibition was i am pleased to say was a success with many people coming in through the doors. The exhibition was supported with extra layouts and display stands. Club member Richard Stowe exhibited his OO gauge layout Wallingford and Daniel Cousins exhibited his N gauge layout Edale. I hope to add photos to the website of this exhibition shortly. Richard displayed his N gauge model of Sutton Bridge which members of the public found interesting. Ron Pointer displayed some of his Gauge 1 models and Daniel Cousins put on a display of some of his narrow gauge garden railway models. Many thanks to Brian Baylis for organising the exhibition and Gerald Cross, John Sleeth and Daniel Reid for operating the layout for the day.Our new buildings for the layout are a new station building scratch built by Richard Stowe, Coopers shed built jointly by Richard Stowe and Alan Earle. The Coopers shed features a detailed interior which is a must see you can see pictures on the photo gallery and the model features working lights.Gerald Cross has been working on scenery by adding some station walling and he has now started on the Coopers yard. I have added some people and details to the station platforms and some lineside details and hope to add some more soon.
